Supporting The Launch Of Anti-Racism Training Course: Race Ahead

Award-winning mental health & anti-racism training provider EDP Training, needed help to kickstart their new training course: Race Ahead.

About the business

EDP Training provides mental health & anti-racism training courses for workplaces & individuals. Their workshops contribute to a healthy and adaptable workforce that enables businesses to make positive changes the reassurance that they are forming a resilient and robust workforce.

The problem

Bianca Jones was striving to support the first Race Ahead cohort as best she could, and was conscious that she wanted to give her attendees materials that would help them on their anti-racism journey. She needed a marketing expert to help her develop the course materials, branding and marketing guide, and provide a workshop as part of the training to the cohort.

The solution

Bianca and Jess met through the Natwest Accelerator, and after an initial conversation, joined forces to strengthen the brand and guidelines for the first Race Ahead course delivered by EDP Training.

"Jess is a superstar, we recently started a training project and we quickly realised we needed some brand and design support. Jess was very supportive helping us with branding from the session plan, instructor kit and social media assets. The session delivered by Jess was exceptional and the feedback was amazing, it really helped the trainers learn how to implement. The video testimonials were of such a high quality. Jess delivered the project to an exceptional standard! I would definitely engage Jess again or future projects."

Step one: Laying the creative foundations

To kickstart this project, EDP Training needed well-designed supporting materials for their first cohort of Race Ahead training. This encompassed a range of tasks, from developing a comprehensive marketing and branding guide, to creating engaging training materials that would be used during the training session.

Additionally, post-course materials such as social media posts, email signatures, and website badges were also required to ensure a cohesive and impactful training experience.

The Marketing Plot helped EDP Training ensure that the cohort had enough resources and materials available to them to help kick-start their training journey and feel supported to deliver training of their own.

Step two: Training Day

Continuing with the project, EDP Training invited Jess to come in and deliver a valuable marketing workshop to the cohort. After careful consideration, it was agreed that empowering the cohort with a robust LinkedIn training would prove to be the most beneficial workshop, enabling participants to fortify their personal brands and effectively propagate their message to a broader audience. The session was kept relaxed and informal so that the cohort felt comfortable to ask questions and participate in discussions, making the experience ideal for learning.

On one of the three-day course, Jess was on-hand to take photos, film testimonials, and make sure that Bianca had everything she needed to continue to advertise her training course.

"Businesses should, and can, do more to support the mental health and wellbeing of their staff: More often than not, this means developing a diverse workforce that is happy, supported and has a strong sense of allyship. Bianca is leading the charge for anti-racism training, and has developed a really useful and well-structured course for future trainers and businesses. The feedback from this first cohort has been fantastic, so I would highly recommend you learn more about EDP Training and what they offer."
